Key Highlights

  • EFI Director, Robert Mavsar kicked-off our webinar with inspiring welcome remarks. He introduced our research networks, emphasizing our commitment to conducting research and providing policy support on forest-related issues.
  • Dr. Mariana Melnykovych talked about “Seeing the Forest for the Trees: A Multi-actor Approach to Trigger Sustainable Forest Governance in Post-war Ukraine.” She highlighted the crucial role of social innovations in enabling participatory and inclusive decision-making processes.
  • Dr. Zoran Poduška presented the “Traditional Intrapreneurial Concepts in the New Bioeconomy Business Model for State-Owned Forest Enterprises.” He emphasized how intrapreneurial models can drive technological and process innovations, benefiting both large corporations and SMEs across various sectors.
  • Dr. Jitka Janová shared her insights on “Motivations behind Decision-making about Mixed Forests in the Czech Republic.” She highlighted the significant professional knowledge of forest managers while stressing the need for adaptive actions supported by appropriate legal measures.
  • Dr. Bernhard Wolfslehner wrapped up the session and underscored the critical need for the forest sector to remain flexible and adaptive in addressing emerging demands.
