Our Team

Gerhard’s main working areas are forest policy analysis and innovation research. Recent foci have been forest ownership change and integrated forest management policies, as well as innovation in NWFP, wood construction and social innovation.

Ivana’s main research interest are innovation studies in forestry, including social innovations in forestry and rural areas. She also works on forest policy and governance analysis, forest ownership and urban forestry issues.

Stefanie is always on indicator missions as she is involved in national, pan-European, and international forest-related monitoring, reporting and assessment activities. She also coordinates IUFRO’s working party on research and development of indicators for SFM.

Alice’s main research areas are innovation and institutional policy analysis in rural and urban areas, regional development, societal participation and climate efficiency in the forest-based value chain. She also coordinates IUFRO’s working group on gender and forestry.

Jerbelle works on environmental policy analysis and forest ecosystem services. Her main research area is land use conflict, local stakeholder perspectives and Arctic issues. She is also a forester and in charge of our website.

As a forester, Blasius focuses on drivers and barriers in the transition toward a forest-based bioeconomy. Policy analysis and stakeholder perceptions are at the core of his research activity.

Aine is a forester working on citizen engagement and social innovations in forestry and rural areas. She also provides support in the development of project proposals and in the updating of the innovation database.

Barbara is a forester passionate about the intersections of society and forests. Her main research areas are societal transformations, gender equality and inclusion in the forestry sector, and policy analysis. Barbara is Head of Gender Sub-Commission at the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) and involved in the IUFRO Task Force Gender Equality in Forestry.

Isidora’s research interests are in forest policy and governance, as well as topics that intersect society and forests. She used various methods, including Q-method surveys and interviews, to understand stakeholder perceptions towards forest protection measures.

Katharina’s research interests range from research and innovation policy to sustainable/responsible innovation and corporate responsibility. As a socioeconomist, her work revolves around economic and societal issues related to sustainable development.
