Join the European Bioeconomy Scientific Forum in Joensuu, Finland, from 11-13 June 2025

The University of Eastern Finland, as the 2025-2026 Chair of the European Bioeconomy University (EBU) Presidency, is set to host the European Bioeconomy Scientific Forum 2025 (EBSF2025) in Joensuu, Finland, from June 11th to 13th, 2025.

EBSF, the biannual flagship event for EBU representatives, will focus on the theme, “Boosting regional and international bioeconomy collaboration and skills.” This year’s forum will emphasize the importance of multi-scalar international collaboration in bioeconomy, exploring diverse forms, promises, required skills, and critical success factors at sub-national, national, continental, and intercontinental levels.

The first two days of the forum, held at the University of Eastern Finland’s Joensuu Campus, will feature keynote addresses, thematic sessions, a poster exhibition, innovation and youth-focused sections, and a Forum Dinner. On the third day, participants will take a bus trip to Koli, a site renowned for its Finnish National Scenery. The excursion will inspire focused workshops exploring bioeconomy collaborations and skills.

Transportation will be provided back to Joensuu train station and the airport following the workshops. Attendees are encouraged to arrive on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and plan their departures on Friday, June 13, 2025, to fully participate in all activities.
