On April 12 and 13, 2021 the conference Forests in Women’s Hands was held online from WALDCAMPUS Austria. Our colleague, Alice Ludvig, hosted a world cafe in one of the sessions. Participants had the opportunity to participate in online discussions and meet representatives from the forestry sector at home and abroad, as well as experts from government, research, education, and forest owners.
At the international conference Forests in Women’s Hands, connecting women in forestry is a central theme. Participants met members of existing women’s networks and had the opportunity to exchange best practice examples and discuss relevant activities and initiatives. Additionally, the conference increased the visibility of women and their achievements in the forest sector.
The conference was organized by BFW – Austrian Research Centre for Forests, Forstfrauen, IUFRO – International Union of Forest Research Organizations, and IFSA – International Forestry Students‘ Association and supported by Bundesministerium and walddialog.
