We invite contributions to a forthcoming Special Issue of Environmental Policy and Governance that explores social innovations for sustainable natural resource governance. The issue welcomes both conceptual and empirical papers addressing how social innovation can foster transformative change in environmental policy and practice.

Key themes include:

• Novel governance arrangements and community-based initiatives

• Interactions between social innovation and policy frameworks

• Methods and tools for co-creation and participatory governance

• Lessons from diverse geographical and socio-ecological contexts
