SLU, Umeå, Sweden on 4-5 July 2022
The Q-method training workshop was conducted as one of the milestones (MS5) of WP3, specifically under Task 3.3. the in-depth analysis of local people’s perception of the existing and new economic activities in the Arctic. Task 3.3. will assess local stakeholders, policy makers and citizens perceptions through semi-structured interviews and the use of Q-method – a semi-quantitative method through which like-minded people are identified and clustered into so-called opinion types. This makes viewpoints across different parts of the Arctic region and industries comparable.
The Q-method training workshop took place from the 4th to 5th of July 2022 in Umeå, Sweden. The workshop was organized by University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) in partnership with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).
A total of 19 participants joined the workshop, of which 14 joined in-person and 5 joined online. While the original plan was to conduct the workshop purely in-person, some of the participants were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, hence a hybrid workshop was conducted. Participants are project partners representing their respective Arctichubs.
